Night Visions and WHS Teatteri Union kick off the summer season on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with two special screenings.
NO MAGIC FOR SOCIALISTS sold out its Nordic premiere screening at the April 2025 edition of Night Visions International Film Festival in Helsinki, so one could say that this repeat screening is long overdue. Htoo Lwin Myo’s fascinating documentary provides an in-depth look at genre rarities you did not even know existedt: The long lost fantasy and horror spectacles of 1950s and 1960s made in Burma. Director Htoo Lwin Myo will be attending the screening in person and will do a Q&A after.
A stunning serial killer thriller with strong horror elements, REVENGE: A LOVE STORY has a lot in common with the cream of the crop of the most edgy South Korean crime thrillers of the past two decades as well as the infamous CAT III classics of Hong Kong cinema. The multi-layered story focusing on a serial killer hunting pregnant women stars Juno Mak, a Hong Kong singer and actor superstar whose latest directorial effort Sons of the Neon Night had its world premiere in the Midnight section of Cannes International Film Festival a few weeks ago.

The lobby bar of the venue is serving (also) alcoholic beverages before and during the screening, so the age restriction of the screening is strictly “18”. And you are allowed to take your drinks bought at the bar to the screening room.
