In July and August of 2024, Night Visions and WHS Teatteri Union are hosting an extravagant series of five screenings of the works of Gaspar Noé, the uncanny provocateur of European arthouse cinema.
The screening series kicks off with the auteur’s second feature IRREVERSIBLE. This unforgettable tale of affection and revenge starring Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassell is also known as Noé’s international breakthrough. The feature which premiered in competition of Cannes International Film Festival in 2002 is now presented as a brilliant digital restauration, the completion of which was supervised by Noé himself.
The screening on Wednesday, July 17, kicks off at 06.30 PM at WHS Teatteri Union (street address: Siltavuorenranta 18, 00170 Helsinki), and tickets can be secured in advance from the venue’s website:
Dialogue of the feature is in French and the version screened now includes subtitles in English.
Age restriction of the screening is strictly 18, and that’s not only because you can take the beverages bought from the lobby bar of the venue to the screening room.
