Following its Finnish premiere screenings in the Official Selection of the Maximum Comeback edition of Night Visions International Film Festival on the first week of December 2021, Alex Noyer’s innovative horror thriller SOUND OF VIOLENCE is hitting the big screen all across Finland starting Friday, December 17, 2021.
Starring the Night Visions guest of honor Jasmin Savoy Brown (SCREAM 5, THE LEFTOVERS, YELLOWJACKETS), SOUND OF VIOLENCE tells the story of Alexis, a DJ and a composer of experimental music suffering from a rare neurological disorder called synaesthesia. This makes her see certain sounds as colours. The kick she gets out of this experience is close to a drug-induced euphoria. The only downside to this is that she is able to reach this mood only in situations involving violence.
When Alexis learns that she might be losing her hearing again any time soon, she has to start a race against time in order to get her new, groundbreaking composition finished. And to get the exact right sounds recorded for her magnum opus, some creative acts of extreme violence need to be performed.
Shot in the U.S. with an all-American cast from a script written by the Finnish director Alex Noyer, the creative team behind SOUND OF VIOLENCE includes also other substantial talent from Finland. Hannu Aukia has acted as the feature’s other main producer and other editor alongside Vertti Virkajärvi, Jaakko Manninen is credited as the feature’s main composer, and Jussi Tegelman has acted as its supervising sound editor.
