Night Visions Audience Award 2016 goes to Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival

Night Visions Audience Award 2016, voted by the audiences of the fall edition of the Night Visions International Film Festival, goes to Denis Villeneuve’s science fiction mystery Arrival. Starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, Arrival had its Nordic premiere at the festival in Helsinki, Finland last week.

First runner up in the audience award vote was The Autopsy of Jane Doe, the U.S. debut of Norway’s AndréTrollhunterØvredal starring Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox. Anna Biller’s The Love Witch, a stylized tribute to the horror and (s)exploitation cinema of the 60s and 70s as well as Hollywood’s Technicolor melodramas with a feminist twist, was the second runner up.

The lineup of the fall 2016 edition of Night Visions International Film Festival included a total of 42 feature films and a carefully hand picked selection of shorts.

Night Visions returns to the screens in Helsinki, Finland next April. The dates of the spring 2016 edition of the festival are from April 19th to April 23rd, 2017.
